Born in Muzaffar Nagar, Major General Sanjay Agrawal joined the prestigious National Defence Academy in Jun 1976. On commissioning as an officer, he joined the coveted Corps of Engineers in the Indian Army in which he rose to the rank of Major General. He served in the Army for 37 illustrious years during which he had the opportunity to serve in United Nations Assistance Mission in Rwanda, as Director, National Bomb Data Centre in NSG, Chief Engineer of a Strike Corps, and the Striker Command. He superannuated as Director General Works where he was responsible for all infrastructure development in Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and DRDO.
After completing his BSc from NDA, he did his B Tech(Civil) from College of Military Engineering (CME), Pune, followed by MSc Defence Studies from University of Madras. Subsequently he did his Masters in Management Studies and M Phil from Osmania University, Hyderabad.
AHe has been an instructor in CME, MEG & Centre Bangalore, NSG and College of Defence Management where he headed the Faculty of Resource Management teaching Financial, Strategic and Acquisition Management.
