ABOUT DEPARTMENT

The Department of Civil Engineering was established in the year 2007 and has grown over the years into one of the finest Department of training in the field of Civil Engineering. The Department of Civil Engineering in COER facilitates students with intellectually stimulating environment. The Department offers a four-year course leading to the Bachelor Degree (B.Tech) and three-year courses leading to Diplomain Civil Engineering.

The laboratories are equipped with excellent and advanced equipments and provide all required facilities for advanced research in specific fields of Civil Engineering, like Earthquake Engineering, Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering etc. The laboratories provide enriched practical understanding along with theory that gives opportunity to understand the depth of the subjects and real-time exposure. The curriculum includes practical training, project work, expert lectures and more.

The Department is known for its reputed faculty having expertise in diverse fields. It has built up a wide research potential. The Department is staffed with highly qualified and enthusiastic faculty members with diversified fields of specializations, coming from reputed institutions like IITs, NITs etc. The faculty members of the Department continue to strive hard by exploring new frontiers of knowledge, imparting the latest technical knowledge to the students and conducting high quality of research. The Department has infrastructural facilities for carrying out various tests on all building materials, soil and water samples. The Department also provides consultancy services in the industry, which includes topographical survey including contouring, analysis and design of concrete and steel structures, water sample analysis and building materials testing for many private, state and central government organizations.

The students of the department get placed in premier Indian and multinational core civil engineering companies and go on to attain prestigious positions. Many of our students are also pursuing Masters/Doctorate from NITs/IITs and abroad universities. The Department is producing several eminent engineers who are making notable contributions in the planning and execution of Civil Engineering projects in India as well as abroad.
