The Department of Information Technology was established with a vision to develop quality engineers to meet the current trends in the emerging world of IT. It is not based on an individual intelligence, but on the interacting intelligence of many. We have well experienced faculty members to impart knowledge to the students about the latest technologies in IT field. The IT lab is well equipped with Windows 2003 Professional & Advanced server and other necessary software. The Department of Information Technology, with its dedicated body of well-qualified faculty, technical staff and students, is committed to be an international, multi-disciplinary center of excellence in Information Technology through education and research. The department endeavours to produce confident professionals tuned to real time working environment. The department offers excellent academic environment with a team of highly qualified faculty members to inspire the students to develop their technical skills and inculcate the spirit of team work in them. The strength of the department is highly motivated students who understand the dynamics of the industry and hone their skills accordingly. The students of the department get placed in premier Indian and multinational IT companies and go on to attain prestigious positions.

MISSION OF THE DEPARTMENT
  1. To provide quality engineering education to the students in the field of Information Technology.
  2. To provide a learning environment that helps students to enhance problem solving skills
  3. To establish Industry Institute Interaction to make students ready for the industrial environment.
  4. To encourage students to pursue online certification courses for value addition
  5. To encourage students to acquire knowledge through internship in India and abroad in emerging areas.

Program Outcomes (POs)

PO1 Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
PO2 Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
PO3 Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
PO4Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
PO5Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
PO6The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
PO7Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

PEO1 To design & develop novel products and innovative solutions for real life problems in Information Technology field and related domains.
PEO2 To be able to adapt to the evolving technical challenges and changing career opportunities. Learn to effectively communicate ideas in oral, written, or graphical form to promote collaboration other engineering teams in accordance with social standards and ethical practices.
PEO3 To provide a conducive and disciplined Academic environment, quality of teaching with innovative & modern methods of pedagogy establishing the relevance of technical education as per the needs of the industry and society at large.

PSO1 Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering to solve complex problems in the IT field and have ability to design, develop and provide a solution using modern tools.
