About Department

The Department of Information Technology was established with a vision to develop quality engineers to meet the current trends in the emerging world of IT. Ours is one of the most vibrant department at COER with perfect blend of academic and research exposure for students as well as faculty members. The four year under graduate programme in Information Technology is intended to groom the students in both basic as well as advanced technological aspects inline with Industry standards. We have a pool of well experienced faculty members to impart knowledge to the students about the latest technologies in IT field. 

Our future technocrats, entrepreneurs, scientists and executives are guided and motivated with a unique and creative approach. We have an excellent infrastructure to facilitate our students learning journey throughout their stay at COER and beyond. Department, at regular intervals, upgrade to the latest software and hardware to keep them in pace as per latest Industry standards.

Necessary licensed software and internet facilities are available for all students. Besides imparting theoretical knowledge, the programme inculcates innovative thinking, cognitive skills, personality development skills, logical reasoning, analytical thinking, communication skills, problem solving skills and teamwork capabilities.

Program Outcomes (POs)

PO1 Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
PO2 Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
PO3 Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
PO4Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
PO5Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

PSO1The students will acquire comprehensive understanding of concepts, analysis, operation and performance of all major aspects of information technology such as computer networks, information security, operating system, algorithms, Human computer interaction, data analytics, artificial intelligence andapplications, cloud computing and programming languages.
